There is no single best month for all of Sichuan.

Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong and Mount Emei can have very different conditions. Choose the season according to the destinations and experiences that matter most to you.

These answers are planning principles rather than fixed rules. The right choice depends on your season, available days and comfort with long transfers.

Yes, for many first-time routes. Chengdu is a practical starting point for city experiences and several major destinations, but some longer nature routes still require dedicated transfer days.
Usually fewer than the map suggests. A seven-day route often works better with Chengdu plus one major region than with several distant highlights connected by repeated transfers.
Choose Sanxingdui for archaeology, museum collections and ancient Shu history. Choose Dujiangyan for heritage engineering, river scenery and a more outdoor day trip. Longer routes can include both.
It may be technically possible in some schedules, but that does not automatically make it a good route. In a shorter trip, choosing one of them usually creates a more comfortable and resilient itinerary.
After the route structure is stable. Availability and booking rules can change, so verify current details for your exact dates rather than relying only on an older itinerary example.
